On arriving in N.Y. the college took us on a day trip into town. Warren (from South Africa) and Lamine (from France) did a bit of a tour together visiting Lamine's relos in the Bronx and then seeing the Empire State Building (top left), Times Square (top right), Madison Square Garden (below right), N.Y. police (top middle), Toys R Us where they have an indoor ferris wheel and the amazing 'Erector' (demonstrated by Warren - left). I then came back into NYC on my own accord a few weeks later and saw 'the nothing' where the World Trader Centre was (above right), the concrete canyon of Wall St (above middle), the NY Stock Exchange (left), some Trump concrete (bottom right), Central Park (below middle), the Rockefella Centre (bottom left), and the MET - Metropolitan Art Museum (bottom middle).
The following weekend after the Marathon I had to go back into NYC to sit my Chinese final exam at the Australian Embassy. After that I chilled out, went and saw Jarhead in a Times Square Cinema and the next day did the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island with a German mate Mark who was doing his internship with MTV in town. The Statue of Liberty is on one island and Ellis Island is another island nearby. We took a ferry out to both. The Statue of Liberty was originally a brown copper colour but has since turned green with oxidisation. Ellis Island (below middle) was the place where 1,000s of immigrants were dropped while being processed for entry into the States and has now become a museum recording the islands role.
So the night before the NYC Marathon, a friend, Lisa (top left with Morgan Feeman), and I decided to have a night out on the town with the stars. So where did the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum... and we went CRAZY!!!!! Brace yourself for some wild stupidity...
