Slid into Hongkong for a few days and said hi to some friends and a cousin. Took trains for about 28hrs straight up into southern China. Got off in Ningming and hired a boat and driver to take me up river a few hours to Panlong so I could check out some 2000 year old Chinese rock art. I stayed in a bamboo hut thing in Panlong and was the only person there. I've seen one white person in about 5 days.
I spent a couple of days in Hanoi but after getting ripped off and robbed, felt it was time to get the hell out of there. Halong Bay is a group of over a thousand tiny islands off the Vietnamese coast. I went on a sail around them for a couple of days. Met some real cool people, had a good relax and got chased by monkeys. The weasel coffee is big there. They feed coffee beans to weasels who digest them whole and then poo them out. They clean the weasel poo off and make you a cup of coffee out of the beans. My friend said it was great coffee, "real smooth" was the words he used. I didn't bother trying simply because I think all coffee is foul.
Anyone for rat? Me and a mate Dan decided to go out for Chinese in Yangshou at the markets. I ate the unrefrigerated rat and he ate the dog. I reckon the rat was better.
